Annihilator Alice in Hell tone

Her Little Mojo Minion
While trying to find a nice headphone setting to use at night, I may have stumbled upon the alice in hell tone with the digitech GPS on the JCM900 setting. He would have used a JCM800 with a super OD most likely, but in the unit it's a 900 an 808. His sounds a bit like in a chamber (reverb) and mine only has delay (I think he's using a bit of that as well). Not sure what pickups he used back then, but my guitar was a fender strat with duncan '59.

Really reminded me of Wicked Mystic so I did a quick clip and tried to match the EQ a bit in logic.

It's brief but, here's mine:

full tune but a bit lower in volume:

Edit: I guess he used this guitar:

Hmm...If I see him out at a show anytime soon I'll ask him what he used. My buddy is his guitar tech as well, see if he can get any inside info?

It was much closer once you got the doubling going

Cool man. Yeah, the one track by itself doesn't work as well.

Re: Annihilator Alice in Hell tone

sounds great either way man! Plan to use this tone on a track?

Thanks brotha! It'd be cool to do a thrash tune with it but I gotta get some other vibes out of my system first. I'm warming up to the idea of direct recording with it too, haven't tried that much other than clips.

Re: Annihilator Alice in Hell tone

Those (yours & the original) sound practically identical ..I'd say.

Thanks - I like his better, it has a more refined sort of hollow sound (in a good way). I'll try a super OD with this setup to see if that does anything.
