You're dead wrong on that...a BF/SF Fender amp with reverb has more gain that their non reverb brothers...even if you NEVER use the reverb the amp will sound better than a non revrb version.

Wow, ok ... didn't know that. Thanks.

But, put an on/off switched pot in your tremolo circuit and the amp gets a nice gain boost when the trem is defeated.

I removed the pull boost circuit from my Princeton, And hooked up the trem circuit to to the pull switch. Sounds much better:D. If I need trem... just pull the switch out. Scott is right. Even with trem knobs on zero the trem is still engaged in the curcuit...And Sucking Tone!

Re: Announcing new amp model....

I never "got" the trem sound anyway.

May you be blessed with all the orders you desire for this model, Papa Smurf.

Many folks certainly seem to want that sound. Maybe they'll realize you can provide it cheaper with better quality.

But I still want that Cherry Franklin. Fenders never did it for me. If the clips I've heard since you sent it around the country are anywhere close to "true," it sounds like I would like it. Even if it doesn't have reverb.

Re: Announcing new amp model....

Bill, I'm shooting for a traditional Matchless sized 1x12. It's going to be a bit deeper, but it's open back. I'm not sure it'll matter. But, we'll see. The best thing I can do to keep prices down is to establish one basic size of 1x12 that will work with various sized chassis'. I'm hoping this one is a winner.

Scott,

it's sounds kinda like a compact, versatile Pro Reverb, which is a good thing .. a great gigging amp

Re: Announcing new amp model....

Sounds cool and interessting.
Why not go for a high gain monster next time for the sake of diversity in your offerings?

I've got an Emminence Canabis Rex speaker sitting here for it. I hope it's bass is relatively tight. If not, I'll get Ted Weber to cook something up for me.

Re: Announcing new amp model....

you are a genius. end of discussion.

maybe a good tremelo to spice things up a bit. unless you want to stay true to the roots, which i respect. i just thought it'd be cool. you know, footswitchable along with the reverb, you could have the trem controls on the back as to not clutter up the front, i don't know much about tremelo so you'd be best to figure what kind and all that jazz (pun, bad pun). you are after all the genius who designs these amps of the gods :). i always liked the idea of the not-so-used controls on the back. that's what boogie heartbreaker did. only it was the presence and the verb controls on the back. instead of the tremelo controls. i would suppose you don't want to spruce it up to much. that's no old school. high/low inputs meaning high/low gain? or what?

just my $.02
