Just for the people who have no idea what I'm talking about, these are Silvertone amps. Twin Twelve vs......1483

1)What are some defining characteristics of each amp?

2)Also does anyone have clips of the twin twelve (1484)

3)The prices on both of these amps are getting a bit ludicrous. Are there any other Silvertones/Danelectros/Sears/Roebuck/whatever that are a bit less known but are kind of like the Silvertone amps mentioned above. I'm looking for less cost. These amps are ridiculously cool but have an amazingly high price for the build qualtiy. That price is only going up!

That last question is a big one. Answers to the third question would be greatly appreciated, more so thatn any other question posted so far.

1483 is raunchier, a little brighter, ( plenty of bottom) it is a better rock amp.

The 1484 is smoother, a little more polite, has a swampy vibe ( fatness to it) that is cool. I personally think it needs a few tweaks to get to where I would really use it, the 1483 was dialed in perfect for my tastes. Channel 2, input one is the goods....

Given that I am running original tubes ( cept fer one pre that went last week) and have original iron, dating to 1965, that amp has been perfect, I gig it all the time, we just used it at rehearsal Mon, thing is a screaming little beast. So the build quality is definately there, 42 years later....
