Greetings All,
I'm new here and have a question about 50's wiring. I have a 1970 SG Special with P-90's and I want to do the 50's wiring mod to it. I hate to disturb any solder joints I don't have to so I wanted to ask about the tone pot wiring. I notice on the diagram the middle leg of the tone pot is grounded. I have done the 50's wiring mod to a routed two humbucker Melody Maker I have and like it very much. Aside from the getting better highs when I turn down I really like to tone control much better. Could I get by simply moving the caps to the middle leg of the volume pots of the SG and not change tone pots to get the same tone control? Or do I need to change the tone wiring as in the diagram? Thanks in advance!
