Another amp to add to my collection.....

This one aint gonna last long. this will be a case of buy low and sell high for me. It is an OK amp, but if you ask me Richard Goodsell needs to hang out with Mark Samson if he wants to get this EL84 thing down right. It IS NOT a bad sounding amp by any means. It actually sounds great, but since I had that Badcat there is no other EL84 amp out there IMO!!

This is a Super 17 MKII with 2 x10's and I assume it's about 17-20 watts with three knobs: Gain, Tone, Volume.

You would think.....


It is "loud" and plenty loud for me, but I am somewhat disappointed when I compare it to a Z or Badcat. I truly did buy this as an investment piece.

Nothing at all. I just prefer the sounds of a Z or Badcat. Those two make EL84 amps that I LUV!!!!!

They won't...I think Greg got this amp for such a steal of a price that he can sell it for fair market and still make a few dollars. Those Goodsells are made here in Atlanta and the only amps Richard has made that I think will be collectable one day are the one off's he has made, the oldest ones with different logo's and the older amps that he has already stopped making, and to be honest thats a big maybe...thats not a slam on the amps or anything but the days of highly collectable gear is just gone...even the limited edition junk that some companies turn out these days will never be as collectable as a late 50's Les Paul, vintage Tweed Fender or 60's Marshall...

The funny truth is that Greg has owned A LOT of amps in the past year or so and I have played through almost every single one of them...Greg is like my personal GC...I often get up on Saturday and think "I wonder what Greg picked up this week...let's go look before it's gone". The thing is that Greg loves the idea of a dual EL84 amp and has owned several of them...the funny part is that the Goodsells are the only ones that I have even come close to really digging and I think they are the one that Greg likes the least!

You sir are absolutely correct. This this doesn't hold a candle to a badcat or Z. I know I sound like a broken record saying that, but IMO it's true!!!

It's a cool looking amp, Greg. I like the look a lot. I can honestly say I never heard of Goodsell Amplifiers.
