Another Caitlin Clip! (She Gets Dirty)

Most of you should recognize this riff. I played my G&L ASAT Classic S straight into the Normal channel of the Celtic Caitlin (tweed Tremolux clone). The volume on both the guitar and the amp are cranked to get that nice, dirty flavor.

Once again, there are absolutely no effects in the signal chain at all; it's guitar straight to miked amp. Furthermore, there is no post-processing (i.e., no added reverb, compression, etc.). The idea is to give you the pure flavor of the Caitlin. Ain't she a beaut?

You got that freakin tone nailed. Your rhythm chops are right on it too... I think the clean sounds real nice, but its where an amp gets impolite that it makes me smile...

I have a slightly updated version of this clip here. I added just a touch of EQ and slapback echo, to make it truer to the album version. I also panned it about 75% to the right, again similar to the album version. I'm still keeping the earlier version on SoundClick so you can hear the unaffected version. EQing the clip also makes it sound more alive, a lot closer to how the amp actually sounds in-person.

That's some really soft-sounding OD. Not my personal taste - I like a little more attack for those kinds of tones, but it's apparent from your clip that that isn't what you were going for, and I will say that you nailed that tone perfectly.

Seems like a cool amp.

(I think the original stones tune has a bit more bass and mushes just a bit)

I can't imagine how this amp would sound with the channels jumped and crancked with a LP !!

btw, I have an amp on the way but I am not saying anything until it gets here... No it's not from Scott, but most probably my next one will be! (Yeap it's my turn to tease you guys) :laugh2:

It's loud, but not ear-piercingly so. If you're playing with a drummer who can keep himself in check and doesn't play like Animal from The Muppets, you'll have no trouble being heard. If you're playing this type of music, chances are you're not playing with an Animal-esque drummer. I can't play this loudly in my house in the evening, I can tell you that much.
