ok, sorry for the mistake here and there, but i have a badly cut middle finger and i cannot play as accurate as i'd like =P

so, here's the sound me and nuntius been working on to get the Iron Maiden - rainmaker lead tone. gets pretty darn close, but the other one is more buttery (was recorded with and oolde gibson, A2 magnets most likely)
*edit*forgot to say.. this is played with my '59neck

allrighty.
i again didnt turn down the reverb effect, but in this one it's not as bad as the 1st clip i posted.
comments on the tone plz, i know what i lack in the chops (a working finger LOL)
also, i got no idea why there is that god awfull clipping noise now and again... i turned the volume down and everything, but it's still there grrrrrrr

Smooth

Man I didn't realise how much reverb i was using lol

Your guitar sounds a lot more woody than mine does

Rainmaker intro sounds good :D

Re: another clip: smooothh preset

I thought it was quite nice! I thought it could have used a tiny bit more treble or a bit more prescence. Nice!

Re: another clip: smooothh preset

That coulda been my fault since it was my patch and my guitar is quite bright

Re: another clip: smooothh preset

hey nuntius what pickups are you using on the drop c thing what ever they are it rocked very tight

Re: another clip: smooothh preset

Well if it was the drop C one, its the stock pickups on my ibanez RS530

If you meant the C# one, its the stock pickups on my gordon smith :)

but this is davey's thread man..

Re: another clip: smooothh preset

thx guys =)
these clips are just to experiment with my tone. i'll pick out a maiden tune, and try to slice my way through it
