Another Jackson Junkie is created!

Well, on ebay awhile back , I scored a Dk2 for what I feel is a great price. It was new, but a factory second. Flaw was it is supposed to be a sustainer model and the sustainer didnt work. So they wired in a minihumbucker and the sustainer switches are now coil taps for the buckers. Got it today. Brown beat the box pretty bad, so I was worried as I didnt have the extra $ for a case. But appears minty fresh and plays like a dream.. Seems to feel better then the ones Ive played at GC getting ready for this one. What a neck!! The bridge pup (designed) will go for the real deal and Ive already got straplocks for it. Its a killer shade of dark purple that I havent seen in the catalogs. Happy camper am I!

Yep man once you play a jackson its all over. Nothing will ever be as good.

Re: Another Jackson Junkie is created!

I like the older Jasksons but the newer ones the volume knob is too high up and you hit it when you play and it turns down the volume.

Re: Another Jackson Junkie is created!

I'm gonna get attacked for this, but i haven't played a jackson that i liked and that i can afford without winning the lotto.

This is true. I just tighten the nut around the pot, and it seems to help out.

Have you ever played an American made Jackson? I can't say much about the price other than they aren't as much as a PRS or Les Paul. They're well worth the money, though, IMO.

Davey,
Yeah, I feel like I got a nice score. even tho its a second... Not another thing wrong with it.

JacksonMIA,
Thanks!

So does it meet the Jackson guys approval??

Jacksons are the best guitars ever created, I have a DKMG and I'm over the moon with it!! I'm currently saving up for a Jackson DK1 to fend off my G.A.S

Will an OFR retrofit this?

It should, but no need to do that until your knife edges wear out, IMO. Which could, depending on your uses, take years. I just changed my bridge from my DK2 to a new same model I got from Ebay. Works nicely.

They are sweet, a used DXMG I played had action lower than I thought possible and no fret noise at all...it was like 1mm for the low-e string, absolutely rediculous.

Anyway, have fun with the pointy one dude :D
