Another p-rails wiring question

Dear Dunkan freaks hallo
I sure could use some help if you may.
I am wiring my small semi hollow 84 Ibanez am205 with a set of p-rails, thinking it could be super cool deal .
I cant seem to find a schematics for what I think is the best way to go ,it goes like this :
2 p-rails , 3 way , 2 mini toggle on-of-on , 2 vol, 2 push-push tones .
I want to :
3 way – between the p-rail.
Toggles – p – hum – rail , each for each pickup.
Vol- standard - each for each pickup.
Tone – standard + push-push – parallel- serial for each pickup.

I would be a great help for me!

I believe that you could wire the push-pull tones for this:

Push-Pull Down:
The On-Off-On toggle controls whether you get P-90, Humbucker, or Rail

Push-Pull Up:
Pickup coils are in parallel regardless of the position of the mini toggle


Unless you're opposed to the Triple Shot rings, I think they would be a cleaner solution here. You would only need the TS rings & the 3-Way pup selector to get all of the choices you want.

Friends tnx 4 your concern!
Phostenix, tnx , I know I about the option with the triple shots, but it only give me a hum-p selection and not the full combinations of various rail-hum rail-p and so on. the only push pull way is good but its like a quiz , I really think a nice on-of-on for the pups and just a push-pull for the serial- parallel is such an easy friendly way to go. house tnx it is close but missing the serial trick.

Would do . I just wish I could get a full scheme, doing electronics on those semi hollows is a pain all ready , the “contact us” section on the site didn’t reply.
Funny I really taught this wiring would be the most popular.

Ok, having been PM'd I have arrived on the scene in a flurry of caped awesomeness. Or something.

Here's as close as I could imagine to what the OP wanted - hopefully I got the control layout approximately right. Some sacrifices have been made for readability.

Note that the two coil selectors are DPDT on/on/on. EDIT: Your on/on/on switches may be mirror opposites of the ones I drew. In that case you'd either wire each pair of DPDT switches horizontally mirrored, or let me know so I can draw it that way.

The best way to find mistakes is to post it online... let me know if you guys see anything.

Oh, yes - for Google's sake this is a diagram and/or schematic for two P-rails with both 3-way coil selector and series/parallel switches.

Triple Shots would give you every combination of pickup coils (except out-of-phase).

It is so nice to have such a supportive community.
I also wane thank Jeremy DoronEsh ehdwuld house and Phostenix . it is not obvious that people would give their precious time and knowledge.
Phostenix sure you are right – but the buttons on the TS are so small , and you need to move all of them in deferent directions just to get what you are after .
It is not 100% logic but I guess on stage, parallel and serial are less important , and it is so natural to click them mini dpdts up and down. On my 84 Yamaha sbg 3000 I have push push for splits and its easy, on my 80 fender “the strat” I have that magic switch that gives you 4 tones more, it is easy too.
Having 5 switches on a guitar is a lot! I m really looking foreword for that but…
I will have to disappoint…
Going for a summer vacation with the misses so it will be only after the 24th that you all can get the full report .
I did suggest to take the guitar with me but she sow right thru me and gave us that look that didn’t help global worming at all!
So “only acoustic allowed” I am taking my beautiful 98 takamine f-375-ss (k&k Trinity mini).

Dear duncan fanatics!
So I finely came home , and yesterday I assembled the p-rails. Parameters schematic was clear as a whistle , lots of tiny soldering , since it is a semi hollow I did it on a piece of cardboard , got it all right and boom! It didn’t work right (welcome to my world..)
But than I did the mirror trick and.. it works!!!!!
Waaaw it is so cool , it gives you 40, yes I said 40 deferent sounds!
This is unheard of.
I have just a bit of a problem with the bridge single , it is much weaker from all the rest , I will try to check every thing again and let you know.
Any way, happy to shear this with you.

I'm glad it worked out! I really do need to make a mental note to always use the switch orientation that you ended up using so that people don't have to rewire like you did.

With the guitar plugged in, try switching both rails on and tapping on both in turn with a steel object like a screwdriver. You should get about the same level from both. If so, then the bridge rail is quieter simply because it's closer to the bridge and the strings vibrate less there.
