Another tone thread-Jim Martin from Faith No More on "The Real Thing"

Re: Another tone thread-Jim Martin from Faith No More on "The Real Thing"

I like select Radiohead songs, but the only album I've listened to in full is Kid A. My band's singer was obsessed but I didn't really get it, not my sort of music.

Just gotta jump in to say that The Bends by Radiohead has some of the best guitar tone I’ve ever heard.

If you dislike that band because of their later bizarre Thom York masturbation, you should listen to The Bends because of how different it is.

Funny thing, The Bends Album musically speaking is a total ripoff -but Thom York's vocal arrangement make that album -they are amazing. I agree tonally it's fantastic, but every song is a dead rip off of various Pink Floyd, Zepplin etc songs -note for note lifts. Still a great record, but not very innovative or creative musically like later records where Radiohead became their own thing. Even so -Thom's work makes it one of their best records.

Pretty much all music is a rip-off of a rip-off.
