You ain't lyin'. A while back I put a series/parallel switch via push/pull pot on an LP Std to put the two pu's in series, thinking I'd get this screaming blues twang. All I got was pure MUD.

That said, if you also had coil split installed, a single coil from the bridge in series with a single from the neck would probably sound really good. I recommend slug coil from bridge with screw coil from neck.

Ignore my previous post. There's just no way to make an on-off-on from a Gibby 3-way. :sad:

That would be my virtual 3rd humbucker mod. A very cool sound. ;)

Sorry to highjack, so if I had a Custom in my bridge and a 59 in my neck, and the Virtual 3rd mod, I could have a Custom/59 hybrid with the flick of a switch?

Yes. And it would be one that picks up two different points on the strings. Very cool ;)
