Another which pickup thread.. (pls help)

I have a 62' RI Strat that i want mod so tat it can play high distortion stuff..
I love the high gain sound of the hot rails, but then the cleans are nothing to brag about..

Is there something that sound better when played clean but also kickass when playing high gain?

have you tried using a push/pull or on/on switch to series/parallel the hot rails?

I havent acquired it..

I read the reviews and it made me quite unsure about getting HR.. So i came here to ask.

I have only played a strat with HR but no push/pull whatsoever

I have a little Screamin' Demon in an Ash strat-alike.

It's not as high gain as a hot rails, but I found that the split sound is excellent.

What do you use to get your distortion?

I have the JB Jr. in my Squier, and it is pretty hot, but I set it low enough that the clean tones sound fine.

I use amp gain for now but in future i will get a gt8/podxtl..

Anybody knows how the hot rails sound when split?

With the little Screamin' Demon you will probably need something in front of your amp for very high gain overdrive. Tough call, as always
