Antiquities vs Hot Rails?

Re: Antiquities vs Hot Rails?

Well, think of the tone of say early ZZ top next to the tone of Iron Maiden (Dave Murray). Thats about what it would boil down to.

Re: Antiquities vs Hot Rails?

how similar are watermelons and grapefruit?

what antiquity? strat bridge hot rail?

Re: Antiquities vs Hot Rails?

Well depending on the Antiquity, the Hot Rails will probably be almost 2x the volume and with no noise. It will however not have the classic single coil like top end or chime and it will be more difficult to clean up without some outside help like a pedal or a footswitch.

That beings said, jeremy is right on the money. It's a pretty far stretch between them. One is shooting for a modern humbucking tone while the other is trying to be as vintage a single coil as you can get.

Re: Antiquities vs Hot Rails?

First we need to know which Antiquity. The humbucker (again, which one?), the several Strat variations? These 2 designs are miles away from each other in tone (and looks), but our new website should let you listen to them side by side. Just use the 'compare' function.
