Antiquities vs. Seth Lovers

What’s the difference between the Seth Lovers and the Antiquity set? Are the Antiquities just aged Seth Lovers or are they actually different pickups? They’re both Alnico 2s with the same EQ curve. Thanks!

The SLs are brighter and more modern. The DCR values are not the same but similar. The difference are the degaussed vs full charged magnet and the relic.

They're similar but all the specs are slightly different. Different wind, the aged thing, aged mags in the Ants. I notice that the Seth neck is a bit rounder while the Ant neck still has warmth but the right amount of clank in a good way from the aged covers I think. The bridge pickups sound similarly clanky to me. Could benefit from removed covers and a double thick A2.

I thought they sounded very similar. You can make Seths sound almost identical to antiquities by backing them off the strings a bit.

Seths have more of an upper-mid honk, while the Ants are clear and open.

I have 2 set of Ants and a set of SL. I swapped mags on both Ant Bridges to full charged A2 and an unoriented A5. In the end I sold the SL (the neck was a double cream under the cover!), I am happy with the Ants.

I thought the other difference was Seth are equal wound coils, matching the patent, while Antiquities have a coil mis-match?

I have never got on with Antiquities. The Seths and PG's though are damn near perfect.

i like em all for different things. the 59s are great too and take mag swaps like a champ

I too found the Ants with full strength mags are a wonderful set.
