Hi folks,
I just wanted to share my experience with the above combination! My awesome wife got me an EP Booster for Christmas that I intended to (mostly) use with my '50s-style Tele, to boost/fatten it up a bit (which it does very well). I decided to use it with my Antiquity-loaded Explorer just for fun, and WOW!!! Very nice! I had toyed with the idea of sending these pickups to the SD Custom Shop for a magnet swap to UOA5, but I hesitated because I was concerned I wouldn't like the change as well as the stock configuration. To my ears, the EP Booster seems to accomplish what the theoretical magnet swap would, i.e. slightly boosted output, bass and treble without being harsh or bloated. The beauty of the EP Booster is I can switch it on/off at will. So there you go- my quick review of the Antiquity HBs with the EP Booster! (BTW, the EP Booster is set internally to unity gain and bright on.)
