If its a 74 then its mahogany. Maple didn't come in until a point in 75.....either once Nashville was up and running or once Kalamazoo had run out of the stock of mahogany billets.1974 LP has three-piece maple neck, methinks.
even a full strength a2 would be less honky and have more output than the aged one you have in there now

I think the Seth's have a great tonal balance -- just wish they had a bit more "umph" to them.

Seth's tone is so good; I let the amp add the oomph.
Ant's are low output (aged magnets, which are low power to begin with) and to me, have a very rounded high-end. I haven't bonded with my set. But...I love Seth Lovers and A2P's, especially in Les Pauls. They're warm, full, and rich. Great tones.
