The Seymour Duncan Antiquity series of pickups have always given musicians access to the true vintage tones of the most infamous guitars ever produced. To further our commitment to capturing these influential sounds, Seymour Duncan is now pleased to offer the perfectly voiced companion, a set of Antiquity Vintage Modern Strings.

Before nickel-alloy plated strings became commonplace, pure nickel wound strings were found on most electric guitars. Their rich, warm tone became a crucial ingredient to the sounds of classic blues and rock & roll. An added benefit of a pure nickel wrap is a longer string life and a more consistent tone between string changes. Now our Antiquity Vintage Modern Strings bring you even closer to the sound of electric guitar’s early heyday. Pure nickel wound and available in your favorite modern gauges (9s and 10s), Antiquity Vintage Modern Strings are the perfect start to your signal chain in the quest to unlocking your favorite classic guitar sounds.

Just saw this announced a few mins ago. Ive tried pure nickel wound and just not a fan of them

round core or hex core? doesnt say, and also, i play 11s which arent available yet

I tried 11-48 on one of my Les Pauls. Loved the feel but need less tension for bending, which I do a lot, so I go with 10-48 or 10-46. I love the Ultra Slinkys. I wish their RPS strings came in 10-48.

i used to mess with different gauges, but im back to using 11s on everything. usually dr pure blues, but daddario when i get them super cheap. i started on a strat and put 11s on it cause thats what slash played. little did i know that a lp has a shorter scale/less tension or that he was tuned down a half step further lowering the tension. after 30+ years of playing, 11s just feel normal. i can play 10s fine, but 9s or smaller and i have to be very conscious of finger pressure and bends

Yeah, 9's bug the heck out of me anymore. I still have an unopened pack here. I just changed a set on my Warmoth Strat back to 10's. Sounds so much better.
11's down 1/2 step on a LP feel like very much like 10's in the tension department. But, I play in standard tuning majority of the time. I tried to get used to 11's but man, was killing me after a while.

There's other pure nickel wrap strings on the market already. I was using DR Pure Blues for that for a while. There's also La Bella, which are supposed to be superlative, and there GHS Nickel Rockers and D'Addario has nickel wrap also.

Now, if these are signed by Seymour, they might have something.

I'd be curious to try them for sure. I am pretty sure these are being made for Seymour by an actual string company.

oh im sure, im curious who though. i used to love snake oil strings but theyve been out of business for years

doesnt really matter as long as they are good. and round core. and they make 11s :D

slightly different feel and tone. to me they feel easier to bend and have a warmer tone. good for blues, not for metal

The Snake oil one's were probably the best but overpriced ...Ernie Ball Rock n Roll's were ok too....after a little experimentation I decided that pure nickel strings sound way too dull/lifeless to me. Don't see these being any different (or cheaper).
