Hey everybody, im in the process of replacing my pickups to get a David Gilmourish, yet a versatile type tone using duncan pickups. The only pickup im trying to decide on now is something for the neck. I have an SSL-1 in the middle and an SSL-5 in bridge. i was thinking the texas hot to get that nice clean blusey tone David gets as well as the distorted tones too.
I was also thinking of the SSl-1 for the neck also but i was't sure if it would sound too bright with my maple neck and bright amp. Davids tones are not really that bright.
Texas Hot or SSL-1? Any other suggestions?
Also, if i were to get a texas hot in the neck would it combine well with the ssl-1 in the middle given the fact that one pickup is Alnico II and the other is Alnico V?
