any advantage to 18v vs 9v?

I have a Silver Lake and a Dark Sun pedal on my board - both of them take 9v-18v. They certainly work and sound great on 9v. Just curious if there is anything to be gained by running them on 18v regulated supplies vs just standard 9v.

Some pedals are designed to gain extra headroom or a deeper effect with 18 volts. If your pedal supports it, it's worth trying it out.

I'd say it is worth trying, but I was always satisfied with the 9v operation, so I never bothered with a higher voltage.

the only time i worry about higher than 9v is for headroom issues which i havent had with the dark sun

That's kind of what I was thinking. I run OD and most other pedals (all 9v) before the dark sun but I try to keep them close to unity gain and then run my gobs of boost (Klone) after the echo and reverb so I really don't think I'm going to need more headroom on the Dark Sun and Silver Lake.
