Any Benefit Of STK T3B Over 5/2?

Is there any benefit replacing the Duncan 5/2 with the STK T3B except for hum reduction, will it give a fuller sound, using the guitar for country picking.
Thanks
Rob

In my opinion, no. The characteristic Tele bite only comes with a single coil. The closest that I have ever heard a noise-cancelling replacement get is the SD Custom Shop T Lead Stack.

Brent Mason used the 5/2 then switched to the Vintage Stack; but it was for noice cancelation only I believe. I've owned both and I personally favor the Vintage Stack. Sounds like a single coil to me.

O.K. thanks for your thoughts, i'll perhaps stick with the 5/2 for a while.....a couple people in the past suggested the Dimarzio area t?
Thanks

I have an Area T in the bridge position of my American Tele. It has a nice Classic sound and no noise. It's warm and smooth with no icepick.

Hey Rob, Duncan's custom shop makes a noiseless version of the 5/2. I have one in the bridge of one of my teles (wound extra hot of course). I have some pretty extensive experience with the DiMarzio Area and VV series (I've had almost them all at one time or another these past couple of years). There is nothing in DiMarzios entire line that can compete with my hot wound stackable noiseless custom shop 5/2 bridge... The Area Hot T and the Virtual Vintage Hot Tele are great pickups but can't really compete with Maricela's creation. The custom shop pickup is twice the price but well worth it to have such a special and unique sound.
