Any Electro Harmonix phaser or flanger owners?

I'm considering buying either the Electric Mistress or Small Stone. Of course, I'm interested in the usual questions; is there coloration of tone, is there a volume increase or decrease, quality of the effect as well as sturdiness.
Any input?

Thus far I occasionally use the Voodoo Labs Analog Chorus and Sparkle Drive...and I'm pretty happy with those. Though I'd like to get the Sparkle Drive slightly modded if there's anyone on the forum that does that?

i know someone who has the small stone, wont use it on stage. HUGE volume drop when its kicked in!

I am a huge fan of all tghe Eh stuff, both the old stuff as well as the new reissues and even the MIR stuff from a few years ago. That said EH boxes can be kind of quircky...some might have a drop in volume (I've never seen/heard a drop that was huge), some actually geta tad luder when the pedal is on. As for coloring the tone when off, anything that is not true bypass will slightly change the tone. Some guys love EH stuff, some guys hate it...I have both an Electric Misterss and a Small Stone, and I also havce several other phasers and flangers and the EH stuff is what's on my board and what I use 99% of the time. As for the Sparkle Drive Stratdeluxer97 is a forum brother and he does amazing Pedal mods...he did a Sparkle drive not too long ago...drop him a PM and get the scoop!

I own an original early Small Stone Phaser...Love it! There's a mod fix for the level drop,plus you need to switch it over to true bypass...Not sure if the new ones have true bypass or not,but my original one is great...Sought of a cross between a Univibe and an MXR Phase 90....I use my Deja Vibe more these days,but I'd never part with my SS...

I've got an Electric Mistress. It's a classic flanger that can do subtle to outright alien invasion. You can really nail the Dave Gilmour kind of sound with it. To me there is a subtle volume drop when you kick it in but due to the nature of the sound it still cuts through the mix about the same.

I don't take it out live 'cause my floor rig is already too big and space it at a premium at a lot of the dives I play.

The current USA made ones are true bypass, not sure about the russin made ones. I bought one thru eBay to try. Meet my expectations for adding an interesting flavor to my tone.

I can't answer the volume drop question. Whenever I get loud enough to try those things the kids/wife complain or the neighbors beagles start howling.

Hello Stratdeluxer, are the mods in your hands only or are they public and are you Ok to pass them on? I would love to make mine true bypass and get rid of the level drop - I've got both pedals and love the sound, hate the live glitches!

Well....The guy that was instrumental in creating the Small Stone modded my pedal years ago and added true bypass....I know how to do the volume loss mod,but not true bypass...I think the volume loss mod fix is over on RG Keen's website?

The older EH stuff was wired very hapharzardly and sloppy and I refuse to work on them....

I just realized there's a Small Stone and a NYC Small Stone. What's the sonic difference, and what's any other differences?
