I'm realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly interested in these. I played one today, and i had my mind set on an epi Les Paul, but i'm pretty sure i've changed my mind. I plan to trade my strat for it straight up.

unless anyone has anything really negative to say about them that may change my mind.

One of the best bang for buck guitars out there. You won't regret getting that guitar.

Re: Any experience with the new PRS SE Custom Semi Hollow?

I bought one last week that I'd had my eye on for some time-
I was interested mainly in the light weight, 'cause I'm getting old, and all my other guitars, (except the tele) have really been taking a toll on my shoulder after a 4 hr gig.
Anyway, I like it really well, except it sounds just a little too 'tinky' for me, so I've ordered a hotter bridge pickup. Replaced the 9's strings with 10's. I also re-wired it to suit my playing style, which means, 2 volume, no tone control, so I can roll the neck pickup in and out. I really thought the sustain would be better, considering it's semi-hollow, but overall, I'm happy with it.
I also got a hundred bucks off the street price, since guitars aren't really moving all that much these days.

I got a chance to play the hollow PRS SE with p-90's and I like it a lot more than the one with humbuckers. Unless you play death metal (in which case you wouldn't get a hollow bodied guitar) I'd get the one with p-90's. More versatility and a raunchier (in a good way) tone to my ears.

Don't trade your Strat for one! Your Strat is awesome!

See my P90 link for a tone rundown of the PRS P90s

I do love my strat, there are just some tones that i'm really after that I can't get with a strat. I was in denile for a long time that my strat could, but i have to face reality and get a guitar with humbuckers.

Yeah man, I put a Little 59 in my Strat and I still play my real no-**** humbucker guitars more.

That's an option though --- I say put a humbucker in your Strat first, that's a $50 experiment.

Anyways, I understand what you're saying, I figured out that I liked humbuckers after about 12 years of playing only Strat guitars. Now I am playing a lot of humbuckers and P90s.

P90's are truly magical --- they cover the fullness and output of humbuckers with the clarity and punch of single coils, without being thin or tinny.

They are worth looking at, for a Strat player going to a fuller sound. I like them a lot.

Also, big props to PRS SE guitars, the one I just bought has quickly become my number 1 over my MIA Fenders. It's light (makes the Fenders feel like boat anchors) and it's action is better, less dead frets and buzzing, just a great resonant guitar.
