Ha, I asked a similar question to this awhile ago.
Gearjoneser was a big help, he could write the book on it. You need an expensive tuner though...

A full blown Floyd setup tutorial by your truly is also in the works, just need to pick up some new batteries for my cam and write about another 2 paragraphs, but I must admit that it doesnßt cover the "basics" like trussrod, action and Intonation but assumes that that knowledge is already "there"
Other than that, Dan Erlewineßs "Guitar Player Repair Guide" (Miller-Freeman, available through www.stewmac.com among others) is the repairman´s and Techs bible, and an 8th grader can become a luthier reading it (look at me, that´s what I did)

Even better than that book, is his other one: How to Make your Electric Guitar Play Great
It even comes with Radius gagues! Really, it is a great book, and assumes you know knothing.

You also need to have long hair, wear tight trousers, put your foot on the monitor (cat or dog if you don't have one) and then pull various faces at the guitar or in the mirror - this could help you on the way to being a great rock guitarist :32:Mincer said:
