Any Hardwire Reverb users?

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
I know we have a ton of love for the Verbzilla, and of course the Holy Grail. What about this. quick search only revealed one user....

Re: Any Hardwire Reverb users?

The TC hall of fame is real good, no tone sucking at all! I sold my Boss Fender 63 reverb for it. Im sure it will kill the holy grail! :cool2:

Re: Any Hardwire Reverb users?

Aceman...I Know it's not what you were asking, but do at least look into the new TC Reverb with the TonePrint ability...I'm really loving the Flashback Delay...Just putting it out there! I got mine via MF by double coupon stacking for like $120 and free shipping..Just an awesome pedal..The TC stuff is really great.

Re: Any Hardwire Reverb users?

It's OK... I just sold one to pay for the TC Hall of fame which I absolutely love.

Re: Any Hardwire Reverb users?

Ouch! ;o)

It's all relative... My first digital reverb was the Boss Rv-5, then went to The RV-7 from there and then the TC. I also own Lexicon Alex and Rocktron Xpression rack units. All were way more flexible than the on board real spring verbs on my amps. My amps are a Mesa Boogie Mark IV and an Epiphone Valve Senior.

Re: Any Hardwire Reverb users?

I like my alesis picoverb hall 1 setting more than many of the other reverbs ive tried (except an old lexicon that sounded golden until the rotary selector died and we couldn't find one for it....) For me, spring reverbs only sound good at that 1 mix level that isn't washy.

Cheap too, and it comes with a bunch of other effects in a sturdy little box.

Re: Any Hardwire Reverb users?

the TC Hall of Fame is actually the best pedal in the toneprint series imho. It's a beast of a reverb pedal imo it's better than the Hardwire reverb but of course YMMV.

Verbzilla is kinda cool too, I'd say you should be doing a Verbzilla vs Hall of Fame showdown.

I have one and my bassist has one. I could organize this.

Re: Any Hardwire Reverb users?

I ended up with the TC bc I wanted a free mojomojo pedal and I had a bunch of those stackable coupons at MF so I got a killer deal for mine actually ended up being my favorite pedal of the 4 TC I got. Granted the Flashback is a very close 2nd.

The only thing I wish it had was a setting similar to the L6 Octo

Re: Any Hardwire Reverb users?

I got it and it's decent. Don't have much to compare to, but it has more than I need. A good thing is that it operates at higher voltages so it won't get overdriven by a hot pedal or fx-loop. I use room reverb most of the time, just to add some space to the sound. Seems well built

Re: Any Hardwire Reverb users?

For my dirt simple "on" verb needs I'm sticking with my Holy Grail. I'd only swap that out for a Holy Grail Plus

I have came close to hitting a Verbzilla a few times. Definitely a lot of love for the TC stuff these days.

So when you say "better" than the Hardwire - better how?

For me, there is basically:
Spring
Room
Hall
Plate

blend is nice
and then verb

after that, i don't really care....

And the best reverb on the planet is STILL the Peavey Valverb. I don't care what box you want to put it next to.

if its not true bypass your loosing some natural tone if you care about that at all:)

Re: Any Hardwire Reverb users?

i had the holy grail when I had a Marshall it sounded like tin, when in the loop i couldn't turn it down enough there was too verb going on. Sold it right after, the verbzilla when it beeped i could hear it and that went back! TC makes pretty much the best effects that sound natural and wont color the tone.

Re: Any Hardwire Reverb users?

I've got a reverb pedal coming to me tomorrow. There's a reason it isn't the hardwire.
