So, 2 days ago I'm up to jam with a band that's looking for a singer and a guitarist... So I'm applying for both positions...
Anyways, I bring the amp in (JCM 800 4210 50 watts combo), plug it in, let it warm-up, turn it on, no problem. Then, I try to crank it louder, turn the master wayyyy up (a little too much I must confess) strike a note and the whole thing just cracks and lowers volume A LOT. So I unplug the thing and borrow a Crate ss combo (about the same thing I'm trying to get rid of right now... :smack: ) Play the jam....
So today I deceide to have a look at it before bringing it in to a tech, I changed the tubes about 4 months ago and never gigged/jammed with it so I figured that I might have done something wrong (altho I did play it a lot inside without problems but never at high volumes)... Look at it and if I can't fix it or see what's wrong I'll just bring it in.... Well, that damn thing works fine now...
Anybody has an idea what's (was)wrong with it? It might not have liked the car ride... I found out that the fuse was sticking out this morning, plugged it back in and it worked. I'm not a tube amp guru so please give me a little help here, I'd really appreciate. I don't want to waste my money on a tech to find out nothing was wrong but I don't want to damage the amp either...
Thanks again in advance guys,
Phil
