Any interest in custom engraved neckplates?

B Bent

Vibroluxologist
Or any other guitar parts as far as that goes.
My good friend Andrew owns a trophy/engraving shop and does a ton of cool engraving on just about anything you can imagine. He did the Marine logo on a good friend of ours' Strat that you may have seen in this thread. He also does all of my pedal engraving on his laser. He is new around here at SD so I figured I would put in a good word for him. He is a seriously talented designer and is 100,000% honest and all around great guy!!

He could do just about anything you want!!!

The plate on the left was done on a solid metal plate and the one on the right was laser engraved on a black plate. Hit me up if you need or want anything.

Hey, sweet man. How much are we looking at pricewise?

Can he do pickguards?

Re: Any interest in custom engraved neckplates?

hey guys, yeah, i'm willing to work with just about anyone on just about anything.... I have three different processes I can use....

1.) rotary engraving - like the neckplate you see on the left (the standard you see on most plaques and desk paperweights)

2.) laser engraving - like the neckplate you see on the right (black)... with this process I can do almost any image on a black neckplate like that, you would be amazed at some of the images I can put onto metal... even photos

3. heat pressing - this is not shown and I don't know how comfortable I'd be with doing it on a neckplate (because of possible buckle rub) BUT it does come as a full color image printed right onto whatever material I use... very cool looking but not as durable as the first two, I use a curing process that bakes the image on as much as possible but like anything else with enough pressure and determination you can remove or at least scratch the image

But anyway... I am more than willing to work with you guys on anything you want.... most things are possible AND to answer your question I do design pickguards as well... I have almost perfected my own unique process, but the imaging that I do on pickguards is not used by anyone else, I'd prefer to not reveal my techniques on here but I will be happy to discuss it with anyone through email guardiancustoms@gmail.com or PM through this forum....

Like B_Bent said I am honest and I will price as fairly as I can (it will depend mostly on setup-time, run time, and materials).

It's really cool to see the interest and seriously I'm pretty much capable of anything on metal or plastic.

You`ll be hearing from me pretty soon,i have two warmoth projects that scream for some more customizing :D This is actually kind of spooky,i was just thinking about a custom engraved neckplate....:D

Re: Any interest in custom engraved neckplates?

I'm assuming you're able to take a 3 ply black pickguard, and route lettering into it, so it shows the 2nd white ply? Similar to the SRV guard? What sort of price ballpark would there be for that?

Re: Any interest in custom engraved neckplates?

Damn, I just had two engraving jobs done for my Warmoth. Those examples are awesome. And +1 to Gear's question above.

Re: Any interest in custom engraved neckplates?

Those neckplates have gone above the 'awesome' range into the 'art' range in my opinion.

Re: Any interest in custom engraved neckplates?

If I design my own image in CorelDraw, can I get a discount on the artwork etc? I'd like a pickguard or two done of artwork I can supply. If Corel isn't a format you can use, what can you use?

Re: Any interest in custom engraved neckplates?

Dudes thanks for all of the interest. My buddy Andrew is the one doing these. He is doing some work for Xssive too. You can contact him directly via his Duncan name of Andrizzle or hit him up via email @ guardiancustoms at gmail dot com .

Re: Any interest in custom engraved neckplates?

and lets just not forget when Guardian Customs becomes a multi million dollar business and the engraveables become collectibles............ I HAVE THE ORIGINAL. lol.

Re: Any interest in custom engraved neckplates?

I'd like one at some point, but I don't know what I'd want on it. I'm definitely keeping this guy in mind, though. He does killer work!

I saw the neckplates last night that X had made, excellent job!

After the new year I'll have something for him too as I re-do my Rat Fink Strat.
