i just got one and i am still tweaking the trim pots and stuff. i was wondering if anyone knew if i could get a billy gibbons type tone from it. or would i be better off with something like an expandora? i ordered it from musicians friend so i can exchange it.

Do not know about the B. Gibbons sound yet, but i am gonna get one soon myself !

I would think that the Expandora will be better for the tone you are looking for, after-all, that IS what HE is using !!! :bigok:

Good Luck, and let me know how it turns out !

I would think the Billy Gibbons thing should jump out of it for you easily. It does it easily for me. :firedevil It is a pedal that is very tweakable though, and you will need to set it up for your amp. The amp is really important with a fuzz. If you have a brighter amp use the internal trim pot to cut some highs. If you bought it used, be sure the gain control is high enough (some of the older ones do not have the internal controls).

BTW ... it is one of my favorite pedals. It combined with a SFX-03 cleared all other OD and distortion pedals from my board. I have one Huckleberry now for stacking fuzzes.

Hey, I have a Fuzz Head and I love it though I don't really get a B.G sound... what I do get is a really great, articulate and clear drive sound! A total contrast to the thick and fat drive sound built into my Cornford amps. I think your pups and amp will have a big effect on the B.G sound too.
