Any love for the 1/4 Pounde for Tele in here ?

Hey Matt,

Even though you got your strings on upside down and your guitar is backwards, at least you mount your control plate correctly with the switch toward the tail.

I don't find the 1/4 pound muddy at all, it's just big and meaty sounding.

Muddy? No. I did like it better with a 500K volume though.

Usually, I'd suggest that you go for a Little '59 and some trick wiring to get three sounds.

If that butterscotch Squier in the OP is a JV or SQ serial number, I'd feed it a Custom Shop Tapped '53 Tele lead pickup.

I had a tele I put a paf style and a hot for tele lipstick in. I liked it, I routed out a full humbucker though. I'd suggest the jb junior but that's one of my favs. I like all the hot and custom pups I've used. From traditional single coils to p90s. Especially the p90s. :)

I know that doesn't help you decide whether or not you will like the quarter pound... Just suggesting a look at the hot for tele or vintage for tele. My personal preference is hot in the bridge, vintage in the neck.
