So a few weeks ago i got some new gear from Fender uk,an Evh lbx and a Jackson monarkh pro sc......
Im so happy with both its unreal......the monarkh was as expected, a jackson speed neck on a singlecut body with loads of access behind the horn,,,
The Evh lbx though jeeeeez it totally blew me away its the tightest clearest tone ive ever had,im talking about the blue channel mainly...
check it out guys

I bought a new EVH Lbx 6 months ago,and I love it! I like both channels, mainly the blue one 1st,but then I switched to the red-burn channel and set the gain to 2-3 and the bass around 8 depending on which speaker cab I am running it through,I also run a reverb pedal in the effects loop, sounds killer! I did swap the stock JJ 12ax7 preamp tube in slot 1 and it sounds amazing! The Lbx doesn't need any pedals etc for more distortion/gain,it has way more than enough! I am glad you bought one! and they do get very loud if needed!

I checked out some youtube videos and thought they sounded great.

It breaks my heart man. I bought the 50 watt and Matching 2 x 12 cabinet and returned it due to a few things i didn't like about it.
1) The clean and Crunch Share a eq which causes all kinds of issues.
2) The Clean volume vs the Crunch volume is un manageable on it's own. I had to use my Boss GT100 to control the volume between the 2 channels.
3) The Red Channel or 3rd channel was way over the top in gain. I thought it lost it's composure and didn't wound that good.

The Crunch channel is incredible by itself. I loved that channel as I could use it for basically anything. It was my favorite part of that amp and why I purchased it in th first place.
The Clean channel by itself is very nice and much better then I expected. Not exactly Fender clean but clean enough and sounds good enough that I could have used it for a great many things.
The Red channel I could probably manage as time would be needed to invest in it to pull off the kind of tone I would want out of such a wild channel. Over the top gain is fine IF it's controllable and usable. To me and I'm a heavy Player it was to much.

The Cabinet I was not thrilled with the speakers in it. I have a Krank Revolution 1 and it has Eminence legend speakers in it and they sound much better then the EVH to me did. I actually thought the amp sounded it's best running through the Krank Cab. Killer tones I was able to get out of it.

I still think about that amp and a small part of me wants it back. I wish the 100 Watt head had Midi Control as I would probably be all over it. I would use a different cabinet.

Re: Any love for the EVH lbx?Its a beast

I have both the 50 watt and the LBX, and have been trying both out side by side. The 50 watt has the clean green channel, blue channel, plus a separate volume and EQ for the red channel. The green channel isn't the best clean, so I end up using the blue and red channel.

That being said, the LBX does everything the the 50 watt does, and is a little more friendly for home or studio use. It's still way loud, but has the same tone as the 50 watt.

I'm preferring the simplicity of the LBX these days
