Any love for vintage aria guitars?

Years ago I picked up an Aria 1802t. It's a late 60's model, (currently it isn't producing ANY sound), and I love it. Its got great mojo and feels great to play...at least it did.

Anyway, if you have/had and an old school Aria, this is your thread.

I'm currently deciding what to do with mine.

Yeah, man. Mine is a lawsuit era guitar. If you aren't familiar with the model, imagine a fender mustang from the time period. I'd hazard to say it's better.

those where cool.
Andy Summers used a Aria LP in the 70s police days.
John Taylor from Duran Duran endorsed their Basses.

Back in my garage / school days we had a trans green Aria 335 copy with a knock off gold Bigsby that got traded around.
That guitar was great for endless Jesus&MerryChain feedback fun :D

I still have my 1982 TS400. It's after the knockoff period but a 31 year old guitar does count as vintage.

Re: Any love for vintage aria guitars?

I never had one, but I wanted one of the Pro II models back in the day that had the explorer type shape and was half black/half white

Neal Schon was an Aria endorser for a while and played the Pro II model. I worked a Journey concert in Eugene in the middle 80s and he had some really cool prototypes with him. Always liked the looks of thoughs.

Aria really stepped up their game when they decided to go with the "Pro II" line. They weren't allowed to copy anymore so they had to convince people with quality.

Some of the 1970s stuff seems to be a lot less junkie than other Japanese companies that only made decent guitars later.

I would love to get an old Aria Les paul guitar to put in a set of Filtertrons.

Here's a Pro II bass I bought used in the early 90's for my daughter - who took lessons for a while then dropped it. I'm guessing it's over 25 years old. Simple, but not a bad bass:

I'd love a Pro II SBR-150 bass. They worked hard for the money.
(Yes, I just did a Donna Summer reference... appropriate for the time.)
