Any maxon od9 pro+ experience???

Looking at one of these along with the normal od9 and od808 as an overdrive. Anyone have any experience with this pedal?

Thanks!

Re: Any maxon od9 pro+ experience???

I have a Maxon OD9 (for sale actually $115 shipped), but I have not compaired it to the 808. I know the OD9 is true bypass, I may be wrong but I don't think the OD808 is. The od9 blows the ibanez tube screamer out of the water no questions asked. So much smoother, better bass responce plus all the good chips (similar to the Keeley mods). I will just say that after playing the OD9, I felt no need to try anything else!!

OD808 felt a bit more open to me than the OD9, could be a desirable effect.

OD820 is the holy grail of them, though, IMO.

I've owned all three, briefly.

I didn't care for the regular OD9, it was too flat-sounding.
I liked the OD-808 a lot, much more clear and open, but it sucked tone in bypass.
The OD9 Pro+ had a lot more life and sparkle, but not a lot of gain, and it was prone to feedback, even with humbuckers.

So I kept my SD-9 instead....it does the slight overdrive thing very well, but more in a scooped way.
