Hey everybody, I did a search, but it seems like most of the "Earvana" results were buried in other topics, or older threads, and I think Earvana has possibly changed their models/materials since then...
I'm building a new Strat, and I'm considering installing an Earvana...does anybody have any thoughts/opinions as to how they work, tone, etc. (the alternative will be a traditional bone nut, so this is kind of an Earvana vs. bone thing)? The neck has a 12" radius and a flat-bottomed nut slot, and the person at Earvana told me to get the "Fender-style shelf nut" when I called and asked. It is hard to tell from their website if the bottom of the Earvana is curved, but if it is, will sanding it flat work with the flat nut slot?
Also, another big question - do the string slots need to be filed, or does it work as-is when installed? I use .10-.46 strings.
Thank you very much for any help/advice/opinions!
