Any pedals/amps/etc. you use NOT the way they're meant to be?

I have a Boss GE7 in the loop that I use as a un-boost. Mids sculpted and lower level for rhythm parts, then I turn it off for leads.
I also use a Mooer Blue Faze in front of my Marshall Jackhammer when I want a "neck" lead tone from my bridge pickup and I'm too lazy to use the pickup switch, haha.

Oh, I also play heavy rock with a 15W 6v6 amp.

Any gear you use in a unorthodox manner that works?

Not me, man. I'm boring. My idea of adventure is leaving a wah pedal in position and using it as a filter.

Ages ago I had a little Korg digital tuner that had some mod for some reason I don't know. It had balanced jack inputs and outputs so I used it as some sort of front-end for recording DI guitar signals back in the '90s, it functioned pretty well until it was stolen after a gig. Apart from that I use things pretty normal I think. Touring with a metal band using EHX44Magnum pocket power amp is not unorthodox just odd I guess :)

I use my Boss BD-2 as a boost (90% of the time), instead of the more traditional OD.

Makes for a GREAT boost btw.

I use my Klon as a paper weight does that count?

I use an MXR bass octave deluxe pedal with guitar, I guess that sort of counts.

Hey! I did that for a while too. The BD2 has plenty of clean boost. Great pedal!
