I was looking at the schecters for around this price point but I read some infor that said, I might be able to get more for my money by checking other brands, such as ESP, Ibanez...etc.
I basically like the strat body types for the new guitar....

So, all you guitar collectors, what guitars would you suggest I check out?
I am looking to keep the price around $750.

Look at used guitars and you'll get much more for your money. You may get a $1,200 guitar for $700.

Re: Any suggestions for a NGD around $750?

Looks like Sam Ash Direct is still running their insane 2012-model Gibson blowout deal.

If I had $750 to drop on a guitar, I would normally go used. But some of those prices they've had on SA are actually better than used. Hell, even the 2012 SG Standards are listed at $799 right now, with free shipping.

I'd check craigslist and see what they've got.... The holidays are usually a good time to buy because people are needing money. With that amount I'd look for an Sg standard or an ESP (not ltd) eclipse

+1 to Craigslist. I've seen so many awesome deals that make me hate myself for being broke all of the time.

$500 Jackson SLSMG
$550 G&L S-500
$200 MIM Strats
$250 Dot Deluxes...

The list goes on.

I think Charvel San Dimas or So Cal is the best choice for your criteria and price range. I think you can even get a new one with 700 dollars, with hardshell case included.

That's a good recommendation as well.

Agreed. Those are really nice.

If he's going for a super Strat that's probably his best bet.

Otherwise, I'd be throwing my debit card at Sam ash right now.

I need to push my dean deceiver fmf. Comes stock with emg 81/85, original Floyd, great value. More stable/consistent than any of my gibsons. Bought mine new as a "2nd" for $700.

Charvel Production series, Japanesse (SoCal Type 1, San Dimas, etc).
Unbeatable for their price.
Everything inside is of quality, including electronics components, OFR and pickups.

In the absence of any stylistic clues from the OP, I am going to suggest a PRS SE Soapbar and a pair of American-made replacement pickups.

Re: Any suggestions for a NGD around $750?

That's also a very good suggestion. Oooooooooooooo........soapbars. In cream, of course.

In that line, my vote is for that new PRS SE 245, with same scale and controls as an LP.
Starting at $620, more or less.

That's a great deal on the Les Paul Studios but I live In Canada so the importing and shipping would bring the price back up.
