Been going back and forth, between dimarzio and SD, I've got a ibanez sz320 neck through maple neck, mahogany body maple top and a peavey 3120 right now I've got a detonator in it right now and sounds great but its not settling with me, I want something with less lows more miss and balanced highs something with that midrange crunch but with enough lows to make it beefy sounding, Help me out!!

Yo mama!.......... so u want tight but big bass crunchy mids not overly bright or dark. Might be a good shot for a patb-2

Install an AlNiCo 8 magnet in the Detonator, then turn down the gain on the amp a little.

Done.

Not a bad guys but Dominus my amp gain is already on like 1 1/2...

You can also try installing regular hex head screws in it, that will tighten up the sound some.

I've got a super 3 in my other ibanez and really dig it!! I've thought about it and maybe a dominion!?

Alnico 8 and hex screws.

Definitely a Super 3 if you like DiMarzios. Hard to beat for thrash.
