Anybody else really dig the maxon od820?

I've had it for a bit over a year now but I just found out that it works wonders in front of my thunderverb. Who else likes that thing??

Well, I haven't compared it to either. It's got more of a klonish thing going on, comparison that is brought on mostly due to the fact that, like the centaur, the fain knob also is a blend knob. I tend to favor it over my centaur clone though, I just like the drive better.

The centaur is fine (at least the clone i have), but just like you the 820, I feel, has an edge on it... Great minds and all huh??;)

OD808 has more mids. OD820 is the OD9 i believe. I have the OD820 and like it. Its warm, has clarity, and grit. Sounds kinda old fashioned classic.

I've been using the OD820 for 2 years now. It's a great pedal for letting playing dynamics come through. It has a different vibe in front of a clean amp than it does through an already breaking up amp, though both sounds are totally useable. It stacks well with other pedals too. I'll run it in conjunction with a Crunchbox or Octafuzz if I want to go over the top.
