I'm rounding up the parts & pieces needed to replace the Schecter PT I stupidly sold a couple years ago. I went back and forth on that guitar, but it was always either a 59 set, or C5/59. Sometimes I wanted the extra output of the C5, but the 59s played so well together, I usually went with those. That guitar had just two volume controls, and I loved the way the 59s mix in the middle position. Through it all, the 59N has always been my go-to neck pickup, to the point that I have very little experience with anything else.
I just grabbed a 4-wire 59B off the Trading Post (thanks, appar111), and just realized I have a Jazz neck sitting at home that I've never put in a guitar. Why doesn't anyone ever mention a 59/Jazz set? Is there something fundamentally flawed with that setup, or are they a workable pair?
Should I just start looking for a used 59N, or is the 59/Jazz worth a try?
