anybody know any chords to play in DADGAD tuning?

i am trying to learn some new styles to play. i really like alternate tunings, especially dadgad. but it is difficult to learn chords to play.

can anyone recommend some chords to play in this tuning, or any other alternate tunings and chords i can try?

i am trying to break out of a serious rut, so please help a forum brother out.

Try to find some Avenged Sevenfold Tabs, they play in that tuning. Their solo's are incredible!

Keep in mind that a lot of open chords pivot off of your index finger on 2nd fret G string.

By the way, the riff in Kashmir is your pinky on the A string/5th fret, while the index finger moves on the G string from the 2nd fret, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th. When you reach the 5the fret, use your middle finger on the A string, and use your ring finger on the G string/5th fret....then up to the 7th fret with your pinky. It's a tricky transition, but that's the secret to that great riff. The descending climax riff is the most genius riff ever
and it's played on the 3 high strings, starting at the 12th fret.

I just took the chords from regular e tuning and played them in dadgad, sounds good to me. I play only irish folk tunes when i'm playing dadgad, and i capo sounds very beautiful with it! Try if you have one!

Luckily, I saw this thread, and my guitar happens to be in DADGAD already!

For the descending part that has the cool keyboard harmony.....
Strum the dgbe all together while fretting these and phrasing them right.
