I mean buy one not just try it out.

I'm not looking to beat up on them or anything like that.

Curious you're impressions of it and on what made you buy it over a more traditional LP?

I bought one, but I returned it during the trial period you get with them. The neck is what killed me, I couldn't get over the width. I know they didn't change them by much, but it was enough to make me not like playing it for long. The auto tuners were something I'm a fan of (although many do not like them at all), and the weird writing didn't bother me. The neck was the only factor I couldn't stand.

The one feature I liked in theory on them was the wider neck. It didn't work for me in practice, however. I didn't like that the profile was so thin. It was very much reminiscent of many classical guitar necks - not so easy to handle for rock-n-roll, country, and r&b, like most of us play.

Whenever I do an assembly, I will always go for a 1-3/4" (i.e. wide) nut if it is offered. But to my hand, a neck with a lot of width needs more meat behind it than a neck with a more standard width. To my taste, a hearty/chunky soft or medium-soft V works very well with a wide nut, but not a thin neck. Also, the smaller the radius, the better it tends to work IME.

My dream Les Paul has a 7-1/4" radius and medium-soft V with a1-3/4" nut and skinny Fender frets, while retaining Gibson-style materials and construction (set mahogany neck, etc.).

Did you return it also?

I am surprised the width bothered you being a bass player too

I was just looking at the Midnite Manhattan Blue Studio over at GC's website

they have a short run version without the robo tuners for $999

and a more traditional width neck

still has the brass zero fret nut thingy that I think is nice

I soo want one

Re: Anybody pickup up a 2015 Les Paul?

Yeah I picked it up, and put it right back down when I saw everything on and around the headstock, including the price tag.

Re: Anybody pickup up a 2015 Les Paul?

I had one of the juniors for awhile. The only thing I did not like really was the tuners so I swapped them out for regular klusons. I liked the adjustable brass nut a lot and the width did not bother me really. I wish I had kept it.

I never bought one. I never would have. Ugly headstock decal, ugly nut, dumb and ugly tuners that would likely malfunction down the road, and ridiculously overpriced, not to mention not particularly well built.

If you read my post, you should see that the width was not an issue. It was the thinness of the neck that was. The whole point of my post was that I generally LIKE wide necks, but I didn't on the '15 Gibsons.

Re: Anybody pickup up a 2015 Les Paul?

I was only asking for the opinions of people who owned them but as usual...

Does anyone know of a neck/fretboard made by anyone other than Fender that has a 7.25 radius? I'm sure some others making strats and teles do the same....but I am wondering if there is an alternative manufacturer with the small radius talked about in this post?

Also, is there anyone that knows of or has tired a guitar that has a radius smaller than 7.25?

Re: Anybody pickup up a 2015 Les Paul?

Worst guitar I've ever played.

They completely ruined the Les Paul for that model year. The G-force system makes the guitar unusable. It never works.

It disgusts me because the tops they were throwing on were incredible. Think of all the beautiful maple that could have gone to a better product.

The 2016 line looks amazing however.

*The worst part of it was everytime I went to a local store to try one out, and the salesman struggled to get the tuners to work, they'd say something asinine like "Well you can always just buy different tuners and sell these on eBay."

I was like, "No dude. Nobody wants to buy this garbage. And why would I pay $200 extra for a guitar that has something I don't want in the first place."

Yeah the point wasn't to have people telling why they didn't buy them that's pretty much a given
