Anybody tried a hybrid Brobucker?

Recently replaced my BroBucker/Seth set with a C5/Jazz in my Les Paul and while a the Jazz absolutely blows my mind, the C5, while an excellent bridge pickup, isn't quite perfect.

So I'm thinking about making a Custom/BB and a Jazz/BB.

I assume this will be quite similar to the Custom/59 hybrid but has anybody actually tried anything like this?

Re: Anybody tried a hybrid Brobucker?

the bb is a heavy wind of #42 wire with the stud coil a little hotter. not sure id love it in the neck but i bet it would be cool in the bridge

Do you think the weaker BB coil with a Jazz coil would be too hot for the neck?
I wanted to make a hybrid of both just so I could put both BB coils to use but this is my first time mixing and matching coils so I don't really know what to expect.

Can you give any guess/estimation how that pickup in the neck would sound?

Re: Anybody tried a hybrid Brobucker?

If you were going to do it for sure the weaker coil in the neck. Might sound great but will probably be pretty fat. The mix of the Jazz stud with the bb screw might be a good sounding pup

Thanks for the response! I am definitely going to go through with it, but I'm going to order a few magnets first. I've been day dreaming all day of a Jazz/BB* in the neck and an A8 Custom/BB in the bridge.

It's probably way over the top, but I still want it.

*Maybe with an A4 because I have OCD and like both magnets being even numbers.

the a4 might be a good match in the neck with its flatter eq
