Anybody tried one of these Dean Zelinsky Private Stock guitars?

Re: Anybody tried one of these Dean Zelinsky Private Stock guitars?

I just saw a thing on that neck design. I dunno how much I care for the guitars per se, but that neck is awesome.

EDIT: the guitars are pretty nice looking. The Z-slider (or whatever they're called) guitars are all bolt-on neck, and there's an LP shape and that gits under mah skin...but I digress. The strats look pretty nice, and I like that thin guitar design he has too.

I've played them. They're really nice. The Z-Gilde neck makes a lot of sense and is very comfortable once you start moving your hand up and down the neck.

I want to try the Z-slider. The pattern actually looks kind of pretty, and I can imagine in feeling cool.

About how thick was the neck profile? What was it comparable to?

Re: Anybody tried one of these Dean Zelinsky Private Stock guitars?

I really had a want problem for the DBZ Imperial Aliento... looked a lot like the Zenyatta but was semi-hollow. Not sure it would have sounded good with the body being so thin but I didn't care.

Dancing around the original strat body shape is dangerous territory, but I think they did a good job, adding some carved top shape into the traditional shape. And if the neck is nice, they have a winner.

Those prices are certainly attractive, along with that hollow un-finished LP lookin thing he's holding.

Thanks for both tidbits! Id like to have another LP type guitar for a Duncan Distortion, but have little to no budget and the prices of these are VERY nice, so I was really wondering how well they play. Plus, I REALLY always liked the shape of the Soltero and the way the natural "binding" or top edge shows. So the Strettavita's have that same look and shape. So, price and looks... check! I was wondering about quality/playability and if the neck shape is as nice as the soltero. If those are both there, its a dun deal.. Only, I would prefer the traditional 4 knob setup, the price is a fair tradeoff

Also, I wondered if the zglide was just a gimmick or if there was any real merit. I dont care for the looks and looks like it would be a pain to clean..

Always figured that z-glide thing would get filled up with crap from your hands and be difficult to clean. Other than that it seemed like a cool idea.
