Anybody tried the Orange Micro Terror?

Re: Anybody tried the Orange Micro Terror?

I have one, that I mostly use with headphones in the hotel when I travel for work. I think that with its tube preamp, it reacts to the guitar and take pedals more like my 18 Watter clone than modeling amps do. It's good-sounding little amp.

The Micro Dark is good, too; a friend has one. The decision really comes down to whether you want the Micro Terror's Aux Input (great for practicing) or the Dark's effects loop.

The Micro's 20 watt solid state power amp can make some serious racket, but it's not going to to be as loud as a 20 watt all-tube amp. Still, the Micro will work for small gigs. I carry it as backup for my 18 Watter, since it take sup almost no space.

I have one and absolutely love it. I have played it through a 4x12 and a 2x12. Right now it spends the most time on top of my 1x15 cab. For an amp with just three controls, it has a lot of range tone wise. You can take it from relatively clean to grinding gain. The little fella is loud a hell also.

Did either of you replace the preamp tube? If so with what?

I'm desperately wanting a Micro Dark. I gotta get rid of my Blackstar HT Studio 20 combo first.
