Anybody who has seen these cheap custom made guitars?

Re: Anybody who has seen these cheap custom made guitars?

i sent a quote to ran. they may be the answer to my current guitar dilemma (i hope).

Re: Anybody who has seen these cheap custom made guitars?

my idea would be about $1900. not bad at all. especially if you consider the same thing through warmoth would be $1500.

Re: Anybody who has seen these cheap custom made guitars?

RAN basically makes a custom isntrument designed to the persons specs.

I personally want an RRV with a 3x4 SLS headstock, in 7 string form. Jackson wants 3+ grand - RAN wants 2grand after shipping and customs, and thats with custom inlays and a non-standard body/headstock shape.

They really make quality instruments at great prices, I'd love to order one someday.

what would shipping & customs be like?

Because Ran guitars tries to get into the market, mostly dominated by american producers, the set the prices that low. I guess in a couple of years from now the prices will be way higher if Ran get's more popular.

Re: Anybody who has seen these cheap custom made guitars?

To me, RAN falls into the same category as ESP: regardless of how well you do it, it´s still a ripoff.

IMO any company that´s not capable of creating their own design, regardless of whether it´s "good" or "bad", should not be in the business of building new guitars.

Seriously, the only reason RAN is still in business at all is that US trademarks aren´t enforceable over here, otherwise JCMI and Gibson would have sued them into the ground already, and rightly so....

Well, the main point is that the guitar are really good! It doesn't matter to me if they copy the design of other guitars... I'm not interested in a guitar that looks too strange and original anyway. And don't many guitars today look about the same?
