Anyone doing pro-quality mods on Blues Jr's ?

As you can asume, i have a Blues Jr, and love the tone and vol.

But i need more of it - the tone part, NOT the vol. !!!
I love the sound when cranked to max, but always seem to want more !
So, i got a Micro Amp ! - Perfect !

. . . but not anymore, again, i want more drive, but not more vol. (15watts is perfect for me !)

So, i would like to know if there are any pro-amp tech's that can add an extra gain channel to the Blues Jr. ala Hot Rod series !???
Would love to have a Blues Deluxe/Deville with outthe extra vol. !

Can it be done ?
A Blues Jr. w. a Blues Deluxe gain channel added ?

Ja-Nee! I have been looking at getting a blues junior, but fear the cost. Perhaps I can buy your beloved one and then you can get on of these! http://www.fender.com/products/supersonic/

I know a tech in JHB who might be able to do the extra channel thing, but big cash i'm sure. Tried sticking a Duncan pickup booster infront? Fat!

The Blues Junior and the Hot Rod series amps are totally different beasts despite being lumped into the same group.

Do you know what that beautifull tone-monster will cost in RooiKappie-safe Soof Arrfrika ?

My Blues Jr. cost me 5500.00 ZAR, converting that to US $$$'s (with a 1-to-7 going rate ), i had to give $785.00 of my dollars(that is Mesa Boogie F30 price range) + (...and yes, i work 10 months of the year in the US) for an amp that i can pick up in Florida for almost half of that !!! - RAW DEAL

The only reason i bought it here, is that getting an amp "in" at Jan Smutts, is going to be a pain, and i am talking "head", not even a bloody combo.
Imagen the excess that i will have to dish-up for going over my 30kg limit !
We don't even get a single Mesa Boogie, OR a simlpe thing like SD PHAT CAT pick-up, in this country, so who says this one will be avalable.

Oh, and if it is, you are looking at special import, and you can be the "lucky" owner for a cool R45 000 or so ! IF NOT MORE !!!
That is BS !!!

I bought ONE guitar in this country - never again !

ALL MY OTHER GUITARS AND 90% OF MY STOMP-BOX, IS COMMING INTO SA WITH ME AFTER EVERY CONTRACT IN THE US !!!
Got my Mac Powerbook there, all my camera gear (pro-photog, you see) and many more to come.
We do not even have a store with a 7day (never mind 30-40 day like GC) return pollicy . . .

. . . no sir, the day are over when i got shagged up the Ar$e with SA PRICES !!!

There was a good music store in a mall right in the heart of downtown Cape Town when I lived there. I would have no idea if it's still there because I haven't been there since 1991. Come to think of it there was also a decent music store in Durban. I have a pic somewhere showing me with a Charvel. They had a Plexi that I almost bought and brought back to the states with me.

I'm kinda sad I never went back to South Africa. Such a cool place.

Hmmm, i am about to take the plunge and order a new Blues Jr, I see the guy doing mod kits will post world-wide, if i need to mod somthing. I notice he has a "exploit the unused half of the second pre-amp tube. That might be for you mr JackdeFuzz
