Should I get the Short key or the Long key for a modern G&L USA bass? They come tapered stock now right?

I don't have a G&L but I do have D-Tuner devices on various instruments.
Choose the Hipshot device that is based on the same 'head design as whatever it replaces.
In detuned mode, the tuner button/key for the lowest string leans diagonally towards the next one along the headstock. An over-length tuner is more likely to physically hit something that it should not.
