From my experiences most of the reason why the Atomic amps sound as good as they do is because the speakers have a very flat response and allow the sounds from the digital modelers come through rather than color them.

I only know a couple of folks who changed the tubes, btu very quickly went back to the factory installed JJs. I've left all the tubes supplied in the 5 Atomics I have. 2 18w, 2 50w 1x12 and 1 50w 2x12.
