Anyone ever filed down a Floyd Rose Saddle?

I just bought a very very old Ibanez RG565. Everything looks pretty original except for the bridge. It's an original floyd.

There's a couple of minor issues.

1. The setup was actually immaculate, other than two little things. The bridge angle was way too far toward the springs. I fixed that in a jiffy. But the BIG issue is that for some crazy reason, the high E string saddle is way higher than the rest. Every saddle matches the neck radius very well and overall action is amazing, but honest to God, the high E is really high for some reason. you can look at the saddle and tell. It's crazy.

2. The trem arm was missing, and a standard 6MM floyd arm does not fit. It's too small to fit a standard arm. Not sure what's going on there. A 5mm might fit.

I have a theory about #1. I think someone took off the saddles to clean them and put them back incorrectly. The B is suspiciously LOWER than the other strings too....hmmm... So maybe I just need to change out two saddles?

They should be marked underneath with a 3-2-1 or a 2-1-0, with the smallest numbers on the outsides... Example: 1-2-3-3-2-1
If the rest are in proper order, then I think I'd be inclined to grab a spare saddle from eBay and keep that one around for a spare since they are getting hard to find, but that's your call.

Well the numbers look correct. But there's no denying that the heights are all kinds of wrong. E and B string are just off. B is very low. E is very high.

Going by your description, I'd say try swapping them. But if they are both higher than they should be then....
565's are awesome guitars! I'd be very tempted to just source out an Original Edge trem and restore that back to how it should be..
Got any pics? The year is on the sticker on the headstock. F7 means 1987, F8 is 1988...and so on...

File it down? Ha...ha good luck with it. The best thing to do is using a power grinder, with the risk of losing your finger. Take that mothefuka out and put an Original Edge in, problem solved.

I have an RG3XXV reminiscent of that 565:

Must be an early one. Lots of them had high E saddles for some reason. And a file won't touch that material. A good grinder will make it hotter than hell, so dip it in water every now and then.
