Anyone ever have a neck shaved, or re-profiled?

my two Wizard II necks are
42mm nut
19 mm 1st fret
22 mm 12th fret

and it has that flat spot on back that makes the 19 mm
the Epi 60s C is the same but with out the flat spot so its 20 mm at the nut

I am a thumb on back guy too
this is where I had issues

I was used to the slightly larger necks and the muscles in my hand needed to retrain

some of this was I got the first Ibanez as a reward after carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand
that may have played a not insignificant part

I liked the Epi 60's in my old LPC, but it definitely felt thicker/clunkier than the LTD Thin U I had at the same time when I first moved here in this town. It was nice, but I think Gibson neck profiles are not dead on the same as Epi. At least comparing the newer Chinese Epis.

Right now, I have a Gibson LP Tribute with a "Rounded" neck profile. I suppose that means 50's? It's certainly on the thicker side copmared to the Epi LPC. I also have an Epi 1959. I suppose that's the 50's neck as well. The Epi is very slighty thicker (or wider, hard to tell from feel alone) and more D-shaped. I've come to tolerate both, but I prefer the Gibson neck.

I too thought 60s was same across the board
but the Gibson 60s D has much more shoulder and a touch wider than the Epi
not un comfortable but different

the nut is 43 on the gibson

Well my guitar showed up today. It's not even a baseball bat thick neck at all.... It's rather thin. Either someone already worked the neck or something's up. I'll measure tomorrow against my 60s necked LPs

Each to his own, obviously. A friend has an 2010's American Deluxe Strat (nice guitar) with a V neck thinking it would help him with his tendonitis. He hated it when he first got it. I think he's grown used to it now. But I always thought "how can people like these" whenever I played it, LOL.

It depends on which neck that was. I'm aware of 3 different "V" necks by Fender. A "Soft V" is very comfortable, especially for rhythm guitarists playing lots of bar chords.

IIRC, my LPJ has a 59 profile neck. A bit ticker than my other guitars but nothing I cannot adapt to.
I would suggest to play with your LPJ for 6 months before doing anything on it. There's a good chance you will adapt to its profile.

I play 25.5", 25.0" and 24.75" scale necks, all with different profiles, and I like all of them for different reasons.
I play also 4 and 5 strings basses. I can switch from guitar to bass between songs no problem. So a different neck profile is nothing IMO :p
