Bozo was pretty well known in the 70's .. I'm not positive, but I think Leo Kottke was playing one of his 12 strings back then
and yes, they were usually pretty ornate guitars
he lived for a while in San Diego, and I can remember walking along a street one day and seeing his shop - I knew about him, but had no idea where his shop was
besides all the inlay, many of his older guitars were Brazilian rosewood, so that accounts for part of the price
