Anyone ever seen Robert Hecker's Ibanez?

Just curious if any of the Ibanez fans out there have ever seen Robert Hecker's custom guitar. It's an ugly one alright! But I thought some of you might think it is cool.

From Wikipedia:

"Since 1990, Hecker's main guitar has been a custom built Ibanez, 'Ike', built by Mace Baily at the Ibanez Custom Shop in North Hollywood. It is an S body outfitted with a 24 fret Wizard neck, with the lower horn removed to facilitate full access to the 24th fret. This guitar was painted orange in 2006."

Haven't seen that one before. Hmm, Mace Bailey made a lot of Steve Vai's Jems and UVs in the models' early days; well, when the Ibanez LACS existed in the late 80s/early 90s, he was building all sorts of guitars there.

I can see the rationale behind it - the normal lower cutaway of an S wouldn't be ergonomically wide enough for a 24 fret square heel neck, especially with the way this guy plays.

So it's an Ibanez copy of yet another Jackson design - the Original Phil Collen Archtop. Sad.

What's even worse is that he's playing that high but still having trouble reaching the higher frets? Rhoads did well enough with a Les Paul Custom.

I think its cool. Reminds me of a Gypsy jazz guitar crossed with a super shredder.

I think it's pretty hideous, myself. But I thought some Ibanez fans might want to see it just as a curiosity.

Brillant! Well not really actually it makes little sense. Just cause someone else doesnt have a problem with something doesnt mean that noone else can. Last I checked in guitar playing they didnt give medals for doing it the hard way. Is there some mystical force that makes notes sound better cause you were straining to get around a neck heel? Doesnt make someone less of a guitarist cause they dont like fighting to get to higher frets.
